<p>Sue Jackson Vess, 78, of Chesapeake, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2025. She was born on August 26, 1946, daughter of the late Louis H. Jackson Jr. and Ada Lanetta Jackson. Sue attended Maury High School. Sue was predeceased by her brothers Tommie and Mark Jackson.</p><p><br></p><p>She found joy in traveling with her husband, card making, Ancestry research and collecting anything Tinker Bell. She loved parties and time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always creating lasting memories and offering her warm, loving presence. She retired from Walmart after 16 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years; Lacy C. Vess Jr. her daughter; Susan H. Lex (Jeff) two sons; Timothy B. Vess (Teresa), Eric C. Vess, 7 grandchildren; Lauren Lex Mosley (Jerry), Logan Lex (Mycaela), Nora Vess, Matt Massetti (Heather), Steffanie Peach (Ben), Tera Bowman (Michael), Trinity Mendoza; 11 great grandchildren; Carsynne, Nolan, Launa, Max, Lily, Aria, Timothy “TJ”, Riley, Liam, Jameson, Olivia, sister; Sharon, nieces; Meg, Jennifer, Kristie and Amy.</p><p><br></p><p>A special thank you to Maria Mercado for caring for our “Mimi”. And the staff at Gentiva Hospice.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held at 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. A service will begin at 11am on Thursday, January 16, 2025 in the funeral home chapel.
