<p>Robert L. Pannier, of Old Saybrook, CT, formerly of Braintree and Boston, affectionately known as Bobby by his friends and family, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 62, after a long and courageous battle. Born on November 8, 1962, in Boston to the late Lewis and Claire (Harding) Pannier, Bobby's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and an enduring love for others.</p><p><br></p><p>After graduating from Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Bobby pursued studies at Northeastern University as well as an electrician’s apprenticeship. His path changed after a life-altering accident, yet Bobby defied the odds, living independently in Boston for over 25 years. A proud Bostonian, Bobby embraced the city's vibrant culture, its sports teams, and its thriving music scene. He loved attending concerts, finding joy in live performances that brought people together. Bobby also cherished simple pleasures—a steak dinner and a cold Heineken were among his favorite ways to celebrate life.</p><p><br></p><p>Bobby's warmth, humor, and passion for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His courage was matched by the love and care of strangers who became his guardians, enabling him to thrive despite his challenges. In 2014, Bobby moved to Gladeview in Connecticut, where he continued to share his joy and build meaningful connections with those around him.</p><p><br></p><p>Bobby was a devoted son, brother, and uncle, cherished by his siblings Joanne Sullivan (husband Richard) of Niantic, CT, and Thomas Pannier of Old Lyme, CT. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Jennifer Sullivan, Meghan Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Jackson Pannier, and Kaitlyn Pannier whose lives he enriched with love and laughter.</p><p><br></p><p>Bobby’s unwavering spirit, generosity, and ability to connect with people made him a beacon of light to all who knew him. Though he is deeply missed, his memory will forever inspire those he touched.</p><p><br></p><p>Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 10th, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree.
