Salting</p><p>Bay City, Michigan</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Victor E Salting, parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Bay City, died on Monday, January 6,2025 after a prolonged illness. He was 83 years old. </p><p><br></p><p>Victor was born in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, earned his bachelor's degree in Law from San Beda (St Benedict ) College, passed the Philippine bar and practiced law for a few years until he immigrated to the USA and settled in California.</p><p>He was a data systems analyst for ATT. After retiring from this he worked as a toll booth collector for the</p><p>state. He became a US citizen during these years. Before his immigration he became a member of the Cursillo Movement, a</p><p>Movement for evangelization in the Roman Catholic church. He also became a very active member in the Knights of Columbus in both third and fourth degrees. He was a Past Grand Knight three times and a Past Faithful Navigator four times. He also was in the Color Corps. He was also a lay minister in the church.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a Sensei or teacher in the Aikido martial arts, having learned the skills from the original Master of the arts, which he taught to many young men including his son Eric Peter.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Libertad Sevandal-Salting, MD and stepchildren Dr. Lino S. Dial, Jr., Aurora Dial-Blankenship, Noel</p><p>Anthony Dial, Judith Dial-Fastidio and David Dial. </p><p>His children from a previous marriage, namely twins Santa Salting and Rita Salting-Loera, Verna Salting-Lewis and Eric Peter; four grandchildren; brothers Johnny and Greg and sister Leticia Jacinto and their spouses and children. </p><p><br></p><p>In 2013, Victor and Libby moved to Bay City and became active parishioners of Our Lady of Peace parish</p><p><br></p><p>Following cremation, Victor will return to California where memorial service or celebration of life is being planned</p><p><br></p><p>No services will be held here in Bay City.
