<p><p><b><i>Lydia Cortes </i></b>beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on May 5, 1932, Lydia moved to Chicago in the late 1950s with her late husband, Manuel Cortes, and their children.</p><p><br></p><p>Lydia was a devoted mother to Juan Manuel Cortes (wife Patricia Cortes) and Beatrice Cortes, and a cherished grandmother to Janet Brigham (husband Kevin Brigham), Giovanni Cortes, and the late Michael Cortes. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Julissa Quiñones, Nathan Brigham, and Juliana Brigham.</p><p><br></p><p>Lydia had a passion for sewing and gardening, and she found great joy in tending to her flowers. Her love for nature and her creative spirit were evident in everything she did.</p><p><br></p><p>Lydia's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.</p></p>
