<p>Richard “Rich” M. Johnson, 74, Marinette, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, January 4, 2025, in Green Bay.</p><p><br></p><p>Rich was born on June 21, 1950, in Illinois to Sheldon and Lorraine (Pruess) Johnson.</p><p><br></p><p>On July 20, 1969, the day Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon, Rich met the love of his life Carmen Arce. Shortly thereafter, Rich entered the United States Army and served until 1974. A proud patriot, husband, and father, Rich selflessly enjoyed the accomplishments of others. He was a man whose heart and home was open to his children’s friends who he treated as his own. Two of his children’s friends would eventually marry into the family, a point Rich took great pride in.</p><p><br></p><p>A gifted people-person with an inviting personality, Rich worked as a logistics terminal manager for Roadway Express Trucking and as an insurance agent for Aflac. His life of service in both professions allowed Rich’s coworkers to become an extension of his family. When not at work, Rich enjoyed watching football, hockey, and baseball; however, what he enjoyed most was time spent with family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Rich is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Carmen Arce Johnson; children, Elaine Sotka and Keith (Sara) Johnson; granddaughter Hanna Sotka; brother Michael (Yolanda) Johnson, with numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews also surviving. He was not rich in name; he was rich in family.</p><p><br></p><p>He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Sheldon and Lorraine Johnson; father- and mother-in-law, Alberto and Fundadora Arce, and sister-in-law Maribel Arce.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of Rich’s life will take place in spring.</p><p><br></p><p>Rich’s family would like to encourage everyone to have a drink, play a poker machine, or grab a crossword scratcher in his memory.</p><p><br></p>June 21, 1950 - January 4, 202506/21/195001/04/2025
