Janene Elloise Campbell

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, Janene Elloise Campbell, loving wife, mother and grandmother, entered into the presence of her Savior. She was born on January 24, 1939 to Max and Ethel Edmondson in Perkins, OK, and was raised in the Perkins and Stillwater area.

As a child, Janene enjoyed the farm life, playing with her hand-made dolls and throwing parties for her friends. She had a quiet humble strength about her, but would surprise us with an unexpected joke or funny story. She remembered as a young child being afraid to pass Pistol Pete's (Frank Eaton) house on her walk to school, as he sat on his front porch with his long braided hair and gun in his holster.

After graduating Perkins High School at the age of 17, Janene hopped on a bus and headed to Oklahoma City to work for the State of Oklahoma. She met the love of her life Burnis Campbell on a blind date, and was married in Midwest City, OK on July 3, 1958. They settled in Nicoma Park, where they raised their three daughters, Linda, Carla, and Jo. She quit work after her first daughter was born to be a stay-at-home mom. She was a wonderful home maker, providing love and caring support for her family.

Janene was a faithful servant of the Lord. She attended Nicoma Park First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served as a pianist for the senior choir, and played piano for services at nursing homes in the Midwest City area. One of her

greatest joys was the privilege of being baptized in the Jordan River when she and her husband traveled to Israel. They had a passion for travel visiting the world together, including Saudi Arabia, Africa, Thailand, Scotland/England, Ireland,Germany, and many other exciting destinations.

Janene was gifted with many talents, including painting, sewing, playing the piano, quilting, ceramics, and gardening. She participated in many local art shows and won awards for her paintings. She loved creating special birthday and Christmas cards for many of her family and friends.

Janene is survived by her loving husband Burnis Campbell of 66 years, her daughters Linda Campbell (Michael), Carla Campbell, and Jo Campbell, grandchildren Lance King (Lizzie), Skylar Snowden (Arturo), Hayden Jennings, and great granddaughter Violet King.

Preceding her in death, are her father and mother, Max and Ethel Edmondson, her brother Max Dale Edmondson, her twin sisters Galene Moorman and Deanie Edgar, and her grandson Kyle Massey.

your mother is an exceptional lady. I loved growing up with her as my older cousin. She set an example for us younger ones.Peggy DoyaL & Linda Taylor
