<p>Chandler, IN -Sherry Ashby, 78, of Chandler, IN, passed away on January 1, 2025, at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville.</p><p>Sherry was born on July 24, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Alvin L. Hess, Sr. and Wilma J. (Fetter) Hess.</p><p><br></p><p>In her younger years she worked at Flair Plastics. It was in 1975 when she began her career for Warrick County in the Auditor’s Office. She worked there until she retired in 2009.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry’s family was her pride and joy. She loved having a house full during the holidays and family get-togethers.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry is survived by her two sons, Greg Ashby of Boonville and Jeff Ashby of Chandler; grandchildren Lacy Ashby, “Azleigh, Makenzie, Elijah” of Jasper, IN, Logan of Boonville, IN. Ashley Ashby (Grant) “Dayton, Gracelyn”, of Evansville, IN. Jackie Ashby, of Boonville, IN, Jessica Ashby “Zyah, Treyvon”, of Evansville, IN, Alexia (Dee), “Aryiah, Emoni, Javan, Ezekiel” of Evansville, IN, Jordyn Ashby (Loni) of Indianapolis, IN, Chelsea Karpiak "Ethan and Addison" of Jasper, IN; two brothers, Alvin Hess Jr. of Boonville, and Darryl Hess of Indianapolis, IN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lloyd Ashby, and a brother, Larry Hess.</p><p>Visitation will be held on January 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until service time at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Rd., Chandler, IN 47610.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Pastor Craig Duke officiating. Burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank the loving care their mother received from Heart to Heart Hospice and Woodmont Health Campus.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>July 24, 1946 - January 1, 202507/24/194601/01/2025
