<p>Angela Vaccarello Greenwood, age 93, of West Dundee, formerly of Schaumburg, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.</p><p><br></p><p>Angela was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinette ( nee Siragusa) Vaccarello.</p><p><br></p><p>On April 29, 1950, she married her husband, Richard J. "Dick" Greenwood. Dick preceded Angela in death on January 24, 2009, after almost 59 years of marriage.</p><p><br></p><p>Before retirement, Angela worked as a dog groomer. She has lived in West Dundee for 18 years, attended St. Catherine of Siena Church, and is a member of the Dundee Township 50-plus club and the Dundee Township Senior Citizens organization. While living in Schaumburg, Angela was an active member of St. Marceline Catholic Church and a member and past president of the St. Marceline Seniors Group.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her children, Gail (Timothy) Brown, Colleen (Jeff) Johnsen, and Terese (the late George) Carey; her grandchildren: Ryan (Trisha) Carey, Justin (Michelle) Johnsen, Megan (Brett ) Frey, Erik Johnsen, and Nathan (Hillary) Brown; and her great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Lyla, Mason, Charlotte, Monroe, Chase and Callen. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Angela was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip S. and Angela Vaccarello, and Joseph and Martha Vaccarello.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at the All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee.</p><p>Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee is assisting the family with all the arrangements.
