Frisby, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family after a courageous four-month battle in the Intensive Care Unit. A sudden illness led to severe complications with pneumonia, but Melanie fought with unwavering strength and resilience. Her grace, love, and spirit will forever inspire those who knew her.

Melanie was born on August 18, 1963, to the late Dorothy Lou Goodin (née Wardlow) and the late Kenneth Odell Goodin.

Melanie shared 42 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, David Brian Frisby Sr., building a life together in Milford, Ohio, filled with love, laughter, and resilience. They raised three children, cherishing every moment as a family. Melanie is survived by her sons, David Brian Frisby Jr. (41) and Joshua David Frisby (38). She is now reunited in eternal heavenly peace with her cherished daughter, Heather Kristine Frisby, who was 19 at the time of her passing on May 12, 2010, after a brief and unexpected battle with pneumonia, surrounded by the love of her mother and father.

Melanie’s greatest joy was her role as a grandmother. She adored her six grandchildren, who brought immeasurable light into her life. She is survived by Alison Frisby (18), Aidan Frisby (15), and Nadia Frisby (12), children of David Frisby Jr. and his wife, Sara Frisby; and Mason Frisby (3), Landen Frisby (2), and Hannah Frisby (2), children of Joshua Frisby and his wife, Sarah Frisby. Her grandchildren were her world, and she loved them more than life itself.

In addition to her immediate family, Melanie is survived by her brothers Dave Goodin (Sheila) and Kenneth Goodin (Debbie). She is now reunited with her beloved siblings: the late Barbara Medford, the late Virginia Gamble, the late Samuel Goodin, and the late Patricia Cooper. Melanie was a pillar of her community and a source of constant support for those she held dear. Her heart was as big as her smile.

Melanie’s four-month battle in the Intensive Care Unit was a testament to her strength and determination, qualities that inspired everyone around her.
