<p>Donna Gayle Hyatt, 68, passed away December 26, 2024. She was a resident of Franklin.</p><p>Donna was born on January 26, 1956 in Beech Grove, Indiana to James Donald “Don” Poynter and Mary Lucille (Cox) Poynter.</p><p>She married John Allen Hyatt on March 17, 1979. He lovingly survives after 45 years of marriage.</p><p>Other survivors include her father, Don Poynter (Nancy); sisters, Denise Rodenhuis (Charles) and Diane Drake (Brian); nephews, Brad Briggs (Amanda), Brandon Drake (Regina), and Donovan Drake (Rachel); nieces, Christan Shaw (Devan), Ashley Gieseking (Tyler), and Mary Plummer (Levi); great nieces and great nephews, Michael, Allie, Lilly, Kinsley, Delaney, Madelynn, Dawson, Liam, Charlotte, and Ryleigh. Donna was preceded in passing by her mother, Mary Lucille (Cox) Poynter.</p><p>Donna received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Evansville. She worked as a Dialysis Nurse at St. Francis for many years before her retirement.</p><p>Donna’s passions included travel, yoga, jewelry making, and, in her later years, wreath making. She and John explored the U.S. extensively by motorcycle. Her college roommate, Cathy Reando (Dave), lives in Kauai, giving Donna the wonderful opportunity to visit the island multiple times. She had even dreamed of bringing her entire family there for one last trip.</p><p>Donna also cherished international travel, taking memorable trips with her sisters and cousins—most recently to France this past August.</p><p>A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31) in Franklin. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.</p>
