<p><p>Memorial service for Benson Edgar McCulloch, 81, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Medley officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home.</p><p><br></p><p>Benson passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, Lamesa, TX. He was born March 12, 1943, to WH McCulloch and Mabel Eudora (Trice) McCulloch. He married Nedra Johnson on March 27, 1969, in Lamesa, TX. They were married 51 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Benson was a mechanic for most of his life, he started as a mechanic while in high school and retired in 1988. He then became a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Benson served in the Lions Club for many years. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Lamesa where he served in many church activities.</p><p><br></p><p>Benson is survived by his children, Tory Doherty and husband, Greg of Granbury and Chris McCulloch and wife, Celeste of Lamesa, Penny Boss and husband, Bud of Blanco, and Sherry Willborn and husband, Barney of Stratford; brother, Bill McCulloch and wife, Katie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Nedra.</p><p><br></p><p>Family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church 801 S. 1st, Lamesa, TX 79331.
