<p>Sokolova, Valentyna</p><p>Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 27, 2024 with her family by her side at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto. </p><p>Adored mother of Oksana (Paul) and Roman (Yana). Proud babuchka of Andrew, Sofia, Anastasiia & Nikol. Great babuchka of Mishel & Misha. Dear sister of Vera, Aleksandra & Ludmila. Predeceased by her husband Evgniy, 22 years ago in Ukraine. Lovingly remembered by many family and friends in Canada and Ukraine.</p><p>Valentyna had a tremendously outgoing personality and made friends everywhere. She retired from Barnaby’s Family Restaurant after 17 years and was known by everyone there as Mama. She loved to feed people and you never left her home hungry. Valentyna loved life and enjoyed travelling with her family on many adventures. She adored spending time with her grandson Andrew and cherished their time together going on car rides. She loved riding on the ATV, looking after her chickens, gardening and of course cooking.</p><p>Sincere and special thanks to the Peterborough Regional and St. Michael’s Hospitals for all their outstanding care, compassion and tremendous support.</p><p>Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Monday January 6th, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm & 6pm to 8pm. </p><p>Panachyda will be held at 7:30pm in the Chapel. </p><p>A Funeral Service will be held in the Armstrong Chapel on Tuesday January 7th at 11am.
