<p>Stephanie “Tiger” Madden Hudnell, age 69, a recent resident of Green Bay, WI passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter, Nicole, by her side on December 27, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>A small graveside service will be held for family members and close friends in Belhaven, NC at Belhaven Community Cemetary. Date and time have not been determined.</p><p><br></p><p>Stephanie was born on September 26, 1955, in Norfolk, VA to William Madden Sr and the late Grace Madden. She graduated from Indian River High School in 1974 and furthered her education at Wilson County Community College where she graduated with an associate degree in nursing in 1994. Stephanie worked as a RN for over 20 years at a pediatric long term care facility where she skillfully and compassionately cared for her medically fragile little patients.</p><p><br></p><p>She met the love of her life in the summer of 1974 while playing volleyball in her front yard. They were wed two months later. They made their home in Wilson, NC where they raised their only child, Nicole Hudnell Johnson of De Pere, WI. Stephanie’s grandchildren were truly her heart. She spoke with so much pride about her daughter and grandchildren, Kayla, Caroline and Bennett. “Nee Nee”, as she was labeled by Kayla as an infant, was so happy to be able to attend the kids’ school events and sports.</p><p><br></p><p>Stephanie spent the last year of her life making new friends in her Assisted Living Facility in Green Bay. While missing her husband of 48 years and the only life she had ever known, she bravely started a new chapter without hesitation. She loved singing Karaoke (anything Patsy Cline), playing poker with her friends and was often lucky at the slot machines.</p><p><br></p><p>Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Nicole Hudnell Johnson; grandchildren, Kayla, Caroline and Bennett; father, William Madden Sr; siblings, Billy Madden, Alan Madden and Henrietta Trotter; as well as many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milburn Ray Hudnell Jr; her mother, Grace Madden; her mother-in-law, Mary Ann Hudnell and her father-in-law, Milburn Ray Hudnell Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>Her generosity and drive to care for others continues to inspire her family and all who knew her.</p><p><br></p><p>Nicole would like to thank Billy and Lee Madden for welcoming Stephanie into their home after her husband’s death while she was recovering from a major health event and Melissa Madden Sellers for her love and assistance during that time. She truly knew how blessed she was to have all of you.</p><p><br></p>
