<p>Alice S. (Stefanik) Leduc, 96, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, in her home, with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Leon J. Leduc, who passed away in 1980. Her wedding was delayed one week due to The Great Flood of 1955.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her four children, Lawrence Leduc and his longtime girlfriend Lorna Bradshaw, Daniel Leduc, Pamela Ashmankas and her husband Mathew, Karen Gavilanes and her husband John; seven grandchildren: Cassandra Buck and her husband Tim, Brian Ashmankas and his wife Samantha, Jonathan Leduc and his wife Michelle, Patricia Fishwick and her husband Kyle, Nicole VanderLaan and her husband Brennan, Jeffrey Gavilanes, and Natalia Gavilanes; and eight great grandchildren: Maddie, Kelsey, and Izzy Buck, Lilly and Lorelei Fishwick, and Riley and Jacoby Schultz and Jameson Clarke; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Martin Stefanik, who passed away in 2000.</p><p>She was born in Webster, daughter of the late John and Frances (Pompa) Stefanik, and lived in Webster most of her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1945. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Webster. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and was Treasurer for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>Alice began her career as a telephone operator. While raising her children, she had multiple factory jobs. After retirement, she returned to work part time at the Chester C. Corbin Library in Webster, which she enjoyed the most. </p><p>She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, reading, walking, watching scary movies, playing checkers and dominoes, and eating dessert...especially cake! In her retirement years she traveled widely as part of a senior travel club and with her son, Dan. Her travels took her to various places across the U.S. and abroad, including the Grand Canyon, Sequoia and Redwood National Parks, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Iceland, France, Poland, Germany, and her ancestral homeland of Slovakia.</p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 18 East Main Street, Webster, with a reception following in the parish hall. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p> In lieu of flowers, Alice requested memorial Masses in her name or donations to a charity of your choice.
