<p><p>David Lynn Hawkins, age 85, of Cedar Park, TX, passed away in the early morning hours of December 9th, 2024. He was born on October, 16th 1939 in Topeka, KS to Raymond L and Helen Bailey Hawkins, and spent many summers at his grandparent’s farm in Lyndon, KS. He was married to Carol Lee Clark on April 12, 1963 in Topeka KS. He moved to the Dallas area in 1982 and resided there until 2023 when he moved to Cedar Park to be near family.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Hawkins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Roosevelt (CVA-42), a service he remembered fondly and proudly. He held a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, Columbia MO, and for 30 years, he worked in real estate and property management in parallel with numerous entrepreneurial pursuits, such as a real estate brokerage, home builder, rental car business, and a private security company. He finished his career with the City of Richardson, TX in Facility Services and retired April 30, 2007. Following retirement, he served on the Lavon city council, the board of directors for the Lavon Water Supply Corp., and Bear Creek Special Utility District, along with being a regular election volunteer and precinct chair. Mr. Hawkins was a member of the Richardson Lodge 1214 AF&AM, and was a charter member of the Community United Methodist Church of Copeville, TX.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Lee (Clark) Hawkins, a brother, Eric (Jeri) Hawkins of Olathe, KS, and three sons, Michael (Deb) Hawkins, Dallas, TX, Matthew Hawkins, Highlands Ranch, CO, and Timothy Hawkins, Leander, TX, along with 7 Grandchildren, and 5 Great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna Myers, brother in law, David Myers, and a brother Alan Hawkins. He was a kind and caring man and made friends wherever he went. He loved his wife, his family, his dogs, and his church. He despised Phillips screws and computerized cars, but learned to love his iPhone, in time.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial services will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka KS in the Spring of 2025; date to be announced.</p></p>
