<p><p>Gladys Hensley Shifflett, 95, of Elkton, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Shifflett was born on June 12, 1929 in Elkton and was the daughter of the late James Mose Hensley and Beulah Ray Herring Hensley.</p><p><br></p><p>She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rockford Shifflett; son, Robin Mark Shifflett; brothers, James Garfield Hensley and Raymond Ray Hensley; sisters, Ruth Rion and Agnes Roach.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Shifflett is survived by sons, Dale P. Shifflett and wife, Carolyn of Barboursville, Larry R. Shifflett and wife, Susan of Elkton, Donnie L. Shifflett and wife, Sandra of Elkton, Ronnie L. Shifflett and fiancée, Wilma L. Shifflett of Harrisonburg, Jerry W. Shifflett and wife, Kim of Elkton, Martin O. Shifflett and wife, Glenda of Keystone Heights Florida, Kendall L. Shifflett and wife, Lynda of Elkton; daughter, Karen D. Jones and husband, Blaine Jones (deceased) of Elkton; sisters, Shirley Mauck of Gainesville Virginia, Eula Morgan and companion, Richard Younger of Roanoke Virginia; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held 2 p.m.,Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, with Pastor Brad Lewis and Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p></p>June 12, 1929 - December 6, 202406/12/192912/06/2024
