<p>Barbara (Mickey) Fichner (née Grondin) of Kenilworth, New Jersey passed away on November 28, 2024 at Overlook Hospital with her family at her side. Mickey was born in Elizabeth and was raised and lived in Kenilworth. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Grondin, her beloved son, Nicholas (Richie) Borsellino, her brothers-in-law, Ronald Goldberger, Vincent Diamanté and Harry White, her son-in-law, Tom Daly, and sister-in-law, Beverly Grondin.</p><p><br></p><p>Mickey is survived by her beloved daughters, Debbie Vellanti and Bobbie Daly, her son Philip (Butch) and wife, Diane Borsellino, her companion of 32 years, Robert (Bob) Messinger, sisters Joan Goldberger, Jeri Diamanté and Kathy Dopf, brother Jack Grondin, niece Melody Van Zant and nephew Matt Grondin.</p><p><br></p><p>Gammer was adored and loved by her grandchildren, Jim (Mackenzie) Daly, Jeff (Sarah) Daly, Ashely (Don) Richard, Jared Vellanti, Amy Borsellino, Jack Borsellino and Mark Borsellino and her great-grandchildren, Dexter, Sullivan, Marlie, Elora, Miles, Denver and Mason.</p><p><br></p><p>Mickey was employed at Stop & Shop for over 40 years, where she was loved by her co-workers and customers.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom loved shopping and would shop everyday. We were just not sure if she loved the returning more than the buying.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom had a heart of gold, whether it was towards family, friends or strangers and was happy when she was giving to others or doing for others. Christmas was her favorite holiday, where she got to shop and give to family, friends, co-workers, customers and strangers she saw who were in need.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom enjoyed her time at their condo in Florida with Bob and when her daughters would visit. She was a sunbather and loved the beach, but couldn’t wait to get to their condo to relax in the pool, bask in the sun during the day and in the evenings go to bingo, the movies and dinner. She looked forward to karaoke night to sing her heart out and she was good at it.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom would call family and friends, and vice versus, many times a day. She was always concerned about everyone’s well-being.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom’s personal style was reflected in both her appearance and the way she kept her homes. She was a superb decorator.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom will be immensely missed by her family who loves and cherishes her. The fond memories we have all shared with her will live on in all of us.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 9am. A mass of christian burial will be 10am at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park.
