<p> David Paul Owens, age 53 of Harrisburg passed away at 3:55 AM November 27, 2024 at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. </p><p> David was born on October 12, 1971 in Eldorado to Jerry “Jaybird” and Connie (Blackman) Owens. He married Brigette Carder on March 29, 1997 and she survives in Harrisburg. David served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as an operator and repairmen for the city of Harrisburg Water and Sewer Department and he was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 318. David was an active member of Little Chapel Church and he had a passion for serving, particularly for mission work. David loved fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a dependable, very loyal, good friend, and hero to the ones he loved. David loved his pal “Tripp” and he was a wonderful son, husband and father. </p><p> In addition to his wife Brigette Owens, David is survived by his daughter, Kaylynn Owens of Harrisburg, Illinois; mother, Connie Owens of Harrisburg, Illinois; brother, Mike Owens of Harrisburg, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Joe Owens and wife Stephanie of Harrisburg, Illinois; Dalton Carder of Princeton, Indiana; and Mackenize Wilton and husband Jay of Harrisburg, Illinois; great nieces and nephews, Emerson Wilton of Harrisburg, Illinois; Luke Wilton of Harrisburg, Illinois; Kinsley Owens of Harrisburg, Illinois; and Everly Owens of Harrisburg, Illinois. </p><p> David is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Owens and great niece, Brynlee Owens. </p><p> Funeral service for David will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 2, 2024 at Little Chapel Church in Harrisburg. Howard Stearns and Jeff Rush will officiate and burial will follow in Reid’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Little Chapel Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Board at Little Chapel Church, and envelopes will be available at the church. </p>October 12, 1971 - November 27, 202410/12/197111/27/2024
