<p><p>Owen Booth Cottle, 101, died on November 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. A resident of Brookfield, CT, he previously lived in Fishkill, NY, Stormville, NY, Hawthorne, NY, and Yonkers, NY. Born in St. Louis, MO on November 17, 1923, Owen was the son of the late Barnard and Evelyn (Davis) Cottle. He proudly served in the US Army Air Corps from 1943-1945, and was a member of the American Legion. Owen retired as Treasurer from Abex Corporation out of New York City and Stamford, CT in 1985 after 38 years of service. He then worked as an office manager for Berger Hardware in Hawthorne for over 19 years.</p><p></p><p>Owen was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill, NY, and a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawthorne, NY. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Hiawatha Masonic Lodge #434 in Pleasantville, NY.</p><p></p><p>On October 22, 1960 at St. John's Tuckahoe Church in Yonkers, Owen married Elizabeth (Ahearn) Cottle who predeceased him in 2022 after 61 years of marriage. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kathleen and William Stymacks of Poughquag, NY, Suzanne and Martin O'Rourke of Brewster, NY, Owen and Cathy Cottle of Shallotte, NC, Donald and Elaine Cottle of Stormville, and Christopher Cottle of Clemmons, NC; his 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.</p><p></p><p>In addition to his wife and parents, Owen was also predeceased by his first wife, Florence (Godfrey) Cottle in 1959; his daughter, Diane Geiss in 2024; his sister, Barbara Aldrich; and his brother, Roger Cottle.</p><p></p><p>Owen was a wonderful man and Father. He lived life to the fullest, and faced each heartbreak and challenge with strength and courage. He will forever be an inspiration to his family as well as a fond memory to all who knew him. </p><p></p><p>Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill on Friday, December 13th from 7 - 8pm with an American Legion service at 7:30 pm and a Masonic service at 8 pm. Burial will take place at Kensico Cemetery on Saturday, December 14th at 11 am with military honors. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill NY on January 18, beginning at 11:00 am.</p><p></p><p>Donations may be made in memory of Owen to a Hospice organization of your choice, the Lupus Research Alliance, or National MS Society.
