<p>Joseph K. Epperson, Sr.</p><p>Joseph K. Epperson Sr., 68, of Schenectady, NY, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, November 21, 2024.</p><p>He was born on December 2, 1955 in Albany NY. He was the son of the late Frank and Grace Epperson. He was a lifelong area resident.</p><p>Joseph attended Schenectady School District. He worked for Ellis Hospital from 1996 until 2023 when he retired. He loved working at Ellis and was loved by the people at the hospital. He loved taking care of his family, sports, sweets and Diet Pepsi. He lived for his pride and joy his son Joseph K. Epperson Jr.</p><p>He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Vernard and great granddaughter Ja’Myah.</p><p>He is survived by his sisters, Gail Christmas, and Vida (Robert) Thompson; his son, Jospeh (Kara) Epperson Jr; his 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Joseph III (Kara), Jakira (Towan), Jolissa, Tiyana, Kevin and Ja’zelle; and his 8 great-great grandchildren, Joseph IV, Josiah, Aiyla, Ragnar, Mazoren, Kash, Ivar and one on the way.</p><p>The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4 until 5pm followed by a brief memorial service at 5pm at Lights Funeral Home, 1428 State St., Schenectady.</p><p><br></p>December 2, 1955 - November 21, 202412/02/195511/21/2024
