Violet Nellie Jorgenson, age 97, of rural Cashton, Wisconsin, passed away on November 20, 2024, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua, Wisconsin. She was born on April 16, 1927, to Omer and Nellie Clark, near Dell, Wisconsin. She was raised with a large family of four brothers and six sisters. Following her graduation from Cashton High School, she married Hollis W. Jorgenson on May 31, 1947, after his return from the United States Marine Corp where he served his country in World War II.

Violet and Hollis were married 54 years and had four daughters: Ruth Ann, Marilyn, Connie, and Tammy. They lived on a farm near Dell. Violet was a homemaker and a loving mother. She also nurtured and cared for her grandchildren, making lasting memories with them. She worked very hard on their dairy farm and enjoyed keeping a clean house, growing beautiful vegetable gardens and flowers and mowing her lawn. Violet was also a great cook and loved baking cookies, bars, and pies. Hollis especially loved her pies.

Violet’s faith was very important to her. She and Hollis regularly attended Dell United Methodist Church and later after Hollis’ passing, she attended Faith United Methodist Church. She knew her Bible and scriptures and was faithful in her daily devotions and prayer.

Violet deeply cherished the people in her life whether they were longtime friends, new acquaintances, or family. She always opened her heart and home to others, finding joy in shared conversations and laughter with those she loved. Her unwavering faith, boundless love, and passion for life were a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her. Violet took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her home stood as a testament to her love, filled with photos and memories of those she held dear. In her later years, she embraced her creative talent for hand embroidery, crafting delicate, beautiful dish towels that she lovingly gave as gifts. She also found peace in feeding the birds that visited her home and journaling the moments of her day, you could always depend on her to remember the weather on any given day. Though Violet never drove a day in her life, you could get in the car with her, and it was always an adventure she was able to take you places you had never been.

Violet was blessed with 97 years of life. She has touched many lives with her love and kindness. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a good sister, a caring aunt, and a good friend to many.
