Beverly L. Krapf

Beverly Louise Krapf, formerly of Morris, passed away peacefully in Dixon, IL, on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 85.

Beverly was born on July 12, 1939, in Morris, the daughter of Orville Walker and Louise Starks. She grew up in both Morris and Minooka. She graduated from Morris High School in 1957 with honors.

She married Eugene Krapf on June 15, 1957, in Morris. Together, they had four daughters: Beverly (Dan) Jakubek of Pasco, WA; Brenda (David) Weber of Richland, WA; Karen (Dennis) Thompson of Walnut, IL; and Kimberly (David) Williams of Morris. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Beverly had five siblings: Barbara Bulian of Mokena, IL; LaMonte Walker, formerly of Geneva, IL; Gerald Walker, formerly of Morris; Debbie Howell of Keller, TX; and stepsister Sunnie Branson of FL.

Our mom loved Jesus, and we know she is more alive than ever; she has just gone home, as Billy Graham once said:

“Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God.”

Mom loved her daughters and our husbands. She cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even the many granddogs! And we all loved her deeply. She enjoyed going on outings with friends, seeing new places, and experiencing new things. She found joy in life’s simple things, like spending time with her family.

To say she will be missed is an understatement. There will be a hole in our lives that only her presence once filled, but it is made bearable knowing how happy she is now to be face-to-face with her Savior.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville Walker and Louise Starks; stepmother, Leatha Walker; stepfather, Donald Starks; brothers, LaMonte Walker and Gerald Walker; and infant great-grandson, Isaac Gebarowski.

Memorials may be made in Beverly’s name to Serenity Hospice and Home at 1658 IL-2 in Oregon, Illinois 61061.

A visitation for Beverly will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. A celebration of Beverly's life will follow at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Sample Cemetery.
