<p>Charles Clifton Densmore, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, at his home in Cypress, Texas. He was born in 1941 in Centralia, Illinois to Cliff and Nadine (Goodman) Densmore, Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>He was raised in Wayne City, Illinois and graduated from Wayne City High School in 1959. After graduation he owned Densmore Body Shop in Wayne City and enjoyed competitive drag racing. He married Ruth in Fairfield, Illinois in 1963. He then worked for Trunkline Gas Company until his retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>Charles and Ruth were blessed with four children. Throughout his career, the family lived in several states until finally making Cypress, Texas their home.</p><p>In retirement Charles found joy in building and flying radio-control airplanes and woodworking. His passion of woodworking showed in many unique creations that he shared with family and friends. He looked forward to visits from his family and friends. He enjoyed participating in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and adored their laughs, giggles, and smiles which gave him many beautiful memories.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to cherish memories of him are his loving wife of sixty-one years, Ruth; children Bob (Carey) Densmore, Dianna (Bill) Carroll, and Lisa Densmore; grandchildren Robert (Alison) and Andrew (Sylvia) Densmore; great-grandchildren Duncan, Tripp, Sutton, and Hallie Densmore; brother Kenneth (Donna) Densmore; nephews Darren (Patty) and Michael Densmore and niece Michelle (Tim) Grieff; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Mary Wood.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Nadine Densmore, daughter Sheryl Ann, and brother-in-law Richard.</p><p><br></p><p>While we are sad that he has left us, we find comfort that he is at peace and still saying, “Because I said so…”</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in his honor be made to a charity of your choice.</p><p><br></p>
