<p>George Alfred Azar, 86 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, with his family at his side. He was born July 4, 1938 in Waterville, Maine, the son of Karam and Amelia (George) Azar. George was a US Air force Veteran, a pathologist for many years at Porter Memorial Hospital and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso. On October 6, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Jeanene Louise Nadaf, who preceded him in death July 10. 2023. Surviving are his children, Nicole (Douglas Mazurek) Azar and George (Marcelle) Azar, all of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Michael (Amy Wang) Azar of San Jose, California; six grandchildren, Daniel Azar, Emma Mazurek, Patrick Azar, Kayla Azar, George A. Azar and Michael B. Azar and a brother Donald (Sally) Azar of Pheonix, Oregon and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins scattered across the country. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Simon Azar and twin sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024, 3pm to 7 pm at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso, IN. Visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2024, 9 am to 10 am with a Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd. Valparaiso, IN. Fr. Roque Meraz officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
