<p>William “Bill” Skeens, age 58 of Delaware, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family following a long battle with cancer. On June 21, 1966, he was born in Stockbridge, Michigan, the son of John Skeens and Charlene (King) Bryant. On December 27, 2020, he married Kristin (Cronin) Skeens in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were together a total of 20 years and shared four years of marriage.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill spent most of his life in Delaware, Ohio with the exception of a short stay in Alabama and Michigan. Bill was always a hard worker. He moved to Michigan in 2013 to work for Cascade, where he worked for eight years. He then went to work for Pregis in Grand Rapids where he remained until his death. He made several great relationships there with the best co-workers.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill loved to golf, especially with his Dad. He also loved to fish. He picked up bowling again later in life, bowling with his co-workers from Pregis.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill was a very strong and resilient person. He started his fight with cancer in 2016. He continued his amazing work ethic, even wearing his chemo pump to work. He also was a very loving and devoted husband, and took very good care of his wife, Kristin. Bill’s proudest achievement was purchasing his home with his wife, Kristin in Michigan. He was a hard worker, working 60-70 hours a week to achieve this goal, all the while battling cancer.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill was a saved man, led to Christ by his Father in January 2024. He was an honorary member of New Hope Church in Delaware, Ohio, attending whenever he was in town. Bill participated in his First Communion on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in a Special Ceremony at home with his family where he was also baptized by Pastor Eric Sapp and his father, John.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his parents, John (Sue) Skeens and Charlene Bryant; sisters, Sherry (Dwayne) Hedges and Renee Skeens; wife, Kristin Skeens; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, plus a host of amazing friends.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Eunice Skeens; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Irene Benline; Aunt Judy; brother-in-law, Kenny; cousins, Jeremy and Larry; brother, Mike; and faithful canine companions, Gizmo, Shadow and Guiness Joy.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank Ohio Health Hospice Nursing and Staff for everything they did to help and comfort not only Bill, but our entire family.
