Pamela Gates
<p>Pamela Gates, 72, of Uniontown, passed away on October 12, 2024.</p><p>Pam leaves behind her two daughters, Alyssa (David) Schreiber and Kara (John) Kirkpatrick; three grandchildren, Katelyn and Jackson Schreiber, Lila Kirkpatrick; her sister Lori (Mike) Mavrigian; nieces Jennifer (John) Fowler, Erin Marriott and Cheryl Johnson; and nephew Ryan (Beata) Arthur.</p><p>Pam was preceded in death by her husband James, and her parents, Merle and Eleanor (Hale) Wiese.</p><p><br></p><p>Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Pam was a 1971 graduate of Springfield High School, and she continued her education at The University of Akron. She began coursework pursuing her passion for art before marrying and raising her family. Her creative talents were put to good use in the creation of amazing birthday cakes and fantastic costumes. She helped plan and throw class parties as a Room Mom, and she hand lettered the heck out of any card she addressed.</p><p><br></p><p>As an active member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church, Pam served as youth leader for junior and senior high for over 15 years, planning crazy initiations and fundraisers, traveling in and out of state for gatherings, serving on the Ohio District Board, and loving the students and their families.</p><p><br></p><p>Her pride and joy, however, were her three grandchildren, whom she spent countless hours playing with, photographing, shopping for, photographing, spoiling with treats of all kinds, and photographing. She was a lady who loved well, and she will be terribly missed.</p><p><br></p><p>The family invites you to call at Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home at 3333 Kent Rd. in Stow, Ohio, on Thursday, October 24 from 5:00 pm. to 7:00 pm, with a service to follow at 7:00.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.</p><p><br></p><p>We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our wonderful Summa therapist team and the staff at The Gables of Green and Traditions Hospice.
