<p>Floyd McClinden Morgan Jr., a longtime resident of Franklin, passed away at home at the age of 80 during the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 1, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>Affectionately known to many as Mac, he was born in Abbeville on September 24, 1944 and was the eldest of three sons born to the union of Floyd and Gladys Morgan. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, growing a garden, and enjoying a good home-cooked meal. To put it plainly, he was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with him in life.</p><p><br></p><p>Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Darlene Truxillo Morgan; their four children, Jessica M. Switzer and her husband Scott, Tisha M. Daigle and her husband Louis, Shane Morgan, and Quin Morgan; nine grandchildren, Griffin Switzer, Ian Switzer, Brice Daigle, Lanie D. Legnon and her husband Tretin, Jesse Daigle, Carter Morgan, Avery Morgan, Kullen Morgan, and Haizlee Morgan; three step-grandchildren, Jill Gaspard and her husband Darrell, Grant Switzer and his wife Erika, and Drew Switzer and his wife Olivia; one great grandchild, Addyson Legnon; six step-great-grandchildren, Koryn, Kayden, Madilyn, Anniston, Roman, and Owen Switzer; one brother, Michael Morgan; his sister-in-law, Brenda Truxillo; as well as three nieces, two nephews, and numerous extended family, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd McClinden Morgan and Gladys Firmin Morgan; one infant grandson, Alex Daigle; his brother, Kenneth Morgan; his father-in-law, Roland Truxillo; his mother-in-law and her second husband, Lydia T. Gilbert and Roy Gilbert; and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Truxillo.</p><p><br></p><p>The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, October 3, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin beginning at 10:00 AM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1:00 PM followed by dismissal from the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at St. Jules Catholic Church during a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Fr. Francis Agbley will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
