Timothy J. Wisniewski

Timothy John Wisniewski, 75, of Essexville, affectionately known to many as "The Old Guy," a loyal, trustworthy, and devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and beloved friend was born into eternal life peacefully on the evening of Sunday, September 29, 2024 at The Toni & Trish House with his wife by his side.

Born in Bay City on October 20, 1948, Tim was the son of the late Henry S. and Florence B. (Kazmierski) Wisniewski. Growing up, Tim attended grade school at St. Hyacinth's and was a 1966 graduate of St. Stanislaus Kostka High School. He went on to attend Delta College and graduated from what is now Saginaw Valley State University in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting. It was on December 11, 1971 when Tim met Michele Irene McGrath at Pickle Barrel Bar. After meeting Michele, Tim knew the priesthood was out of the question; the two were united in marriage on May 18, 1973 in St. John's Church. Few things in life are certain, but the love Tim had for Michele was always clear. Their 51 years were blessed with three children, three grandchildren, and countless memories.

Best known for his quick wit, yet kind heart, Tim had a unique ability to keep any and everyone on their toes. A diligent worker, Tim spent his career in accounting at General Motors/Delphi before embracing retirement. Despite putting away the calculator, Tim remained dedicated to service, helping maintain the grounds of his church and extending a friendly hand to those in need as the longest/most senior employee of Skorupski's.

Throughout his life, Tim found joy in leisurely pursuits, particularly his love for golfing, bowling, and frequenting Mulligan's and Barney’s. A man of faith, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Hyacinth Church) and selflessly gave countless hours and days to the Knights of Columbus as a member of the 4th degree, serving as the Past Grand Knight of Council #4102 and Past Navigator of Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491. Tim was a familiar face at River Road's many events, especially the pancake breakfasts and fish fries. He was also a member of the P.L.A.V. #162, Eagles #1010, St. George Society, and Loyal Order of Moose #169.

Tim was a cornucopia of useless information and had a love for original classic rock music. Always full of wisdom, Tim would often use the lyrics from a song to teach a lesson or get his point across. In his own words, Tim's favorite life accomplishment was simply "raising three good kids." He will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come.

To carry on his legacy, Tim leaves his faithful wife of 51 years, Michele Wisniewski; children, Jason L. (Stephanie) Wisniewski, Jessica I. (Dave) Faulmann, and Joshua J. (Janice) Wisniewski. He was the most loving and supportive Papa of Kimber and Holton Faulmann and Mavis Jo Wisniewski, and will forever be missed by his brother, Paul (Anne) Wisniewski; in-laws, Carl Carlton, Colleen and John Maillette, Mary and Greg Heckathorn, along with many nieces, nephews; dear friend, Jody Techlin, along with many friends and his faithful canine friend, Dixie. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas H. (Barb) Wisniewski and John H. "Jack" Wisniewski; sister, Henrietta Carlton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Marie McGrath; in-laws, Larry and Patricia Meehleder, and beloved family friends, Carol Michalek and Al Eckinger.

Tim's family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Knights of Columbus Bible & Chalice Presentation and again on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM until Tim's 7:00 PM Life Celebration in The Timothy Room, named in his honor, at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will preside. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Toni & Trish House. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the third floor staff at MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw (St. Mary's), Compassus Hospice, and The Toni & Trish House for their wonderful care and support. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
