Alan Machacek
<p>Alan J Machacek of Burr Ridge passed away on September 18, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicago on April 9, 1943 to Clarence and Marianna Machacek. </p><p>Al started his career as a Research and Development Machinist. He was elected at 25 years old the Local Union President. He believed if any man or women can do the job they should be given the chance. </p><p>At the age of 28 Al opened Al’s Service Station in Hinsdale. Later he opened Al’s Auto Body, INC in Westmont. He loved working both businesses and thanked his customers over the years for making his dreams come true. He was a very hard worker and while others were sleeping, he would wake up at 3AM to remove snow from driveways and parking lots. </p><p>Al was an assistant head usher at St John of The Cross Catholic Parish for 10 years. </p><p>He married Rose Rivoli in 1961, and they beat all odds and were married for 63 years. They worked together for over 50 years. Together they had a wonderful and caring daughter Lori and son in-law Mark who also worked with them. </p><p>Al’s only regret in life was not finishing their journey together. Over 60 years of marriage was not enough but God called him back home to soon. </p><p>He is survived by his wife Rose and daughter Lori Machacek (Mark) Sulima. </p><p>A private visitation and service was held on September 23. </p>April 9, 1943 - September 18, 202404/09/194309/18/2024
