<p>Tennie “TJ” (Holloway) Phinney departed this earth on September 20, 2024 at the age of 64 in Rogersville, Missouri, surrounded by her family.</p><p><br></p><p>TJ was born to Leonard and Oneta (Aldridge) Holloway on June 18, 1960 in Houston, Missouri. She married Randy James Phinney on October 30, 1987. TJ was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She never met a stranger as she made friends everywhere she went. TJ enjoyed camping, fishing, and making memories with her family. She spent many evenings playing cards with friends or reading books in her rocking chair on the porch.</p><p><br></p><p>As a grandmother, TJ was affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, who adored her kind heart, adventurous spirit, and infectious sayings, including “eat a bug” when she was annoyed at you, “are you new” when you should have known something, and “my dogs are tired” after a long day. She was never afraid to tell you when something was tacky.</p><p>TJ spent her life serving others as an administrative assistant and paralegal. She met Randy while working as the chaplain’s secretary at Cox Hospital. She later made lifelong friends as a paralegal at Daniel Clampett and Evans &amp; Green Law Firms. She retired as the legal secretary for Missouri State University’s Legal Affairs and Compliance office, where she referred to the team as her work family.</p><p><br></p><p>Tennie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, PFC Lyle Douglas. She is survived by her loving husband, Randy, and their four children: Mandy Williams and her husband Tim of Rogersville, Melody Trotter and her husband TC of Fordland, Erik Richards and his wife Tina of Springfield, and Amy Fleming and her husband Joel of Fordland. Tennie was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Taylor Owens and her husband Garrett, Riley Williams and his wife Michaela, Gracie, Ashtyn, and Emma Trotter, Kendra and Abby Richards, and Madison and Jarrison Fleming. She is also survived by her siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2024 with a memorial service following at 1:00 pm at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.</p><p><br></p><p>TJ's vibrant spirit, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to helping others will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, humor, and strength will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. As TJ would say, "Today’s caterpillar is tomorrow’s butterfly." Let us celebrate her life with joy, laughter, and fond memories.</p>
