<p> Robert Alan McCleeary, 69, of Urbandale, IA passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in the arms of his wife Nancy (Vance). A celebration of life will take place at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p>Bob was born in Des Moines, IA on April 21, 1955 to Forrest and Marilyn (Kester) McCleeary. He met his future wife while attending Hoover High School. They were married June 12, 1982. During their 42 years of marriage, they welcomed three children: Erin, Ryan, and Alan. </p><p><br></p><p>He was a revered radiologist focusing on providing the most thorough readings and making sure to pass his knowledge along to as many as possible. He donated his body to Des Moines University to further the education of future providers. In addition, his brain was donated to Harvard to further PSP research. He loved playing golf, attending league nights at Glen Oaks and Lake Panorama National, and leading his team to victory at the annual Ryder Cup. His dry-wit was often unexpected and wildly funny. </p><p><br></p><p>But most important was his love for his family. He was a treasured son, dear brother, beloved husband, adored dad, and cherished Papa (his favorite title of all.)</p><p><br></p><p>Left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife Nancy; daughter Erin (Ryan) Monthei; sons Ryan (Genevieve) and Alan (Morgan); sister Barb Darbonnier; grandchildren: Anna, Troy, and William Monthei, Wesley and Theo McCleeary, and Linden and Anderson McCleeary; uncle Marvin Kester; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
