<p>Harris Broughton Kimbell, Jr passed away on September 4, 2024 after a long battle of Alzheimer's. Harris was born September 4, 1933 in Houston, Texas. After moving to San Antonio, Texas, he graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Building. </p><p><br></p><p>Harris enrolled in the Army and was stationed in Seoul, Korea. During his deployment he was a member of the US Army golf team in Seoul winning most tournaments representing the United States. After returning home, he continued his love for golf and outdoor activities such as boating with the kids on Lake Hamilton. </p><p><br></p><p>After completing his tour Harris started his career in the lumber business. His career began with Dierks Forest, later becoming Weyerhaeuser in sales, Anthony Lumber Company in marketing and retiring with Curt Bean Lumber in sales. </p><p><br></p><p>After retiring, Harris continued his love for golf while working part time at Golf Alley for many years and playing golf. He loved helping and visiting with all the customers. </p><p><br></p><p>He was a former member of Second Baptist Church Church teaching youth and traveling on youth trips. He loved watching his Sunday School boys playing sports and attended most of their games for encouragement. Harris was a charter member of Hot Springs Baptist Church. He served on the Board of Directors, being Treasurer, taught in Children's Sunday School with Brenda and very active in Upward Soccer. </p><p><br></p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents Harris Broughton, Sr and Mary Louise Kimbell and one brother Kent Kimbell.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;Survivors include his wife of 49 years Brenda York Kimbell, children Russ (Chastity), Anne (Rajeev) and Mike Rebecca). His grandchildren are Scott, Kristen, Kailie, Nick and Mason and one great granddaughter, Amelia. Harris is also survived by one sister in law Nancy Kimbell and one brother in law David York (Lee Kathryn) nieces, nephews and great nieces.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank Tommy, Nate, Desiree and Jennifer from Hospice Home Care for their loving kindness and tender care. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be on Sunday, September 8th from 2 to 4 PM at Hot Springs Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p>
