<p>Jeffrey Robert Barrett of Northbridge MA passed into eternal rest Wednesday August 28, 2024 at age 62. He was born to Robert E. Barrett, and Carolyn (Frank) Barrett in Hartford CT. Jeffrey grew up in Bloomfield CT, and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1980 where he lettered in Cross County Running. He was an active volunteer firefighter in Bloomfield and held several part time jobs including Bloomfield Garage, where he cultivated his love for all things cars. He also worked in Copaco’s Bakery.</p><p>After completing several semesters at UCONN, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served for 5 years at Coast Guard LORAN stations in Governors Island NY, Key West FL and in Sellia Marina in Southern Italy. He loved his time in Italy so much he reenlisted for his fifth year of service. Judging from the stacks of air mail letters, he was very popular with the ladies in Italy too. He left the Coast Guard as an Electronic Technician Third Class.</p><p>Upon returning to the states, he lived for a short time in CT employed by Millers Farm, and Barrett Enterprises before moving to Massachusetts. There he lived with many friends in Billerica, Newton and Norwood while working at GTE. Eventually he settled in Northbridge MA where he was employed by IPG Photonics of Oxford until his recent retirement.</p><p>Those who knew and loved Jeff knew he loved the stock market. He was a strategic day trader who loved to talk investments with whomever would listen, making it his mission to get friends, family and coworkers active in the stock market.</p><p>Jeff is predeceased by both his parents, Robert &amp; Carolyn, and his sister Catherine Freeman. Jeff leaves behind sisters; Jennifer Bengtson and her husband John, Cindy Whitney and her partner George, Dorothy Mannings and her husband Shawn, and brother-in-law Ira Freeman. Jeff also leaves behind his lifelong friend Chris Cicero, truly his brother with whom he shared great memories. Also left behind are his nieces Jessica, Michelle, Tabetha and Colleen and nephews Jack, Ricky and Ian. Also great nieces Cynthia, Madison and Lenora and great nephews Tyler, Liam, Grayson and Arlo. Jeff will be greatly missed by his many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.</p><p>Please join us in keeping Jeffrey’s memory alive by telling your wonderful stories about him. Prayer services will be held Saturday, September 7,, 2024 at 1:00 PM followed by a wake until 3:00 PM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
