<p> Ruby Carolyn Jolley Abbott’s faith became sight on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the age of 85. She passed in a local hospital surrounded by family.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p> Carolyn was born in Geraldine, Alabama on April 9, 1939 to the late Coleman Jolley and Audrey Hall Jolley. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Bachelor, and her long time partner, Ernest Hall.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p> She attended Geraldine High School. She worked for PET Bakery, Thankful Baptist Church, and as an administrative assistant at Springwood Living Center. She loved gardening, nature, and spending time with those she loved. Carolyn was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church and Thankful Baptist Church. </p><p><br></p><p></p><p> Carolyn’s family was the light of her life. She’s a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), and sister. She is survived by her children Marilynn Abbott Tatum(John), Michael Abbott, and Greg Abbott (Beth) all of Rome; 8 grandchildren, Ashleigh Tatum Bishop, Kate Abbott, Jodie Tatum Noles (Dennis), Cole Abbott, Hannah Abbott, Jesse Abbott, Ben Abbott, and Audrey Abbott; 3 great-grandchildren, Miles Noles, Loralei Bishop, and Rosemary Noles. Carolyn is survived by the father of her children, Treece Abbott. She is survived by her sister, Sara Burkhalter (Don) of Lynchburg, TN. As well as a beloved newfound relative, Penny Morrison (Randy) of Grant, AL. Carolyn is survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p> Carolyn lived by the bible verse from 1 Corinthians 13:13; Faith, hope, and love the greatest of these is love. To be loved by Carolyn was to be blessed beyond measure. She lived by faith, walked in hope, and loved her neighbor as herself.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p> The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home,Oaknoll Chapel.
