<p>Milton Gray Coffey passed away unexpectedly at his residence in the Macedonia Community on September 1, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on August 16, 1950, in New Albany, MS to Guy E. “Buster” Coffey and Maveline Gray Coffey. He was a self-employed truck driver.</p><p><br></p><p>Milton's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and the simple joys of life. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Holly Black Coffey, and a loving father to his children, Kristen Coffey Youngblood (Joe McDonald) and Chad Coffey (Leslie). His role as a grandfather to Chase, Cydney, Alex, Mallory, Sawyer, Landon, Lilly, Farrah Jo, and McKinley was one he cherished deeply, and his playful spirit will be fondly remembered by each of them.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a brother to Larry Coffey (and his wife Ann), Sammy Coffey, and Jerry Coffey (with his wife Susan). Milton's life was also enriched by the presence of several nieces and nephews, who will miss his friendly banter and loving guidance. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Barbara Coffey, and his nephew, Matthew Elkins.</p><p><br></p><p>Milton's passion for life was evident in his many interests. He was a man who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and he never met a stranger. His love for dirt track racing was only matched by his enthusiasm for fishing and cooking fish, a skill for which he was renowned. His fish dishes were a delight to all who had the pleasure of tasting them. An avid fan of the classic Ford Mustang, he once humorously shared with his family that he had a nightmare about buying a Chevrolet—a testament to his fun-loving nature.</p><p><br></p><p>Beyond his hobbies, Milton's love for children and his jovial demeanor made him a favorite among the younger generations. He was the kind of person who could light up a room with his presence, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.</p><p><br></p><p>Milton's legacy is one of love and friendship. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, embracing each new adventure with a smile. His loving, friendly, and adventurous personality will be remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Macedonia Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Ronnie Dickinson and Bro. Jason Howell will officiate. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Keith Coffey, Bradley Coffey, Jason Coffey, Jeffrey Coffey, Shane Coffey, Todd Coffey and Trent Coffey.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Macedonia Baptist Church in Myrtle.</p><p><br></p><p>United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements.</p><p><br><br></p><p></p>
