<p>Silvano Alberto Pires, 71, passed away at Grand Strand Hospital, Sunday August 18, 2024, and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. </p><p>Silvano was born July 1, 1953 in Portugal, son of the late Francisco Pires and Maria Arminda Ferreira. He immigrated to the United States in 1988 and made Myrtle Beach his home. Silvano never met a stranger and loved to help all his family and friends. His grandkids were his world. He had a passion for European soccer and Benfica was his favorite team. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria Elisa and his daughters, Sandra Carroca and her husband Robert Carroca, Ana Shumpert and her husband Jason Shumpert. Four grandkids EmilyAnn Carroca, Ian Carroca, Kennedy Shumpert and Preston Shumpert. Six siblings, Fernando Pires, Jose Pires, Estrela Pires, Luisa Claro, Luis Pires, and Paula Nogueira, and nieces and nephews. </p><p>Prayer service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at McMillian-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. </p><p>&nbsp;In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation &nbsp;https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org. </p>
