Iona Marie Neel
<p><i>Iona Marie Cochran Neel was born on June 21, 1942 to Delmer and Frances Leona (Gill) Cochran in Manzanola, Colorado. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 15, 2024 in rural Fairmont, OK.</i></p><p><i><br></i></p><p><i>Iona was raised in Manzanola, CO and graduated from Manzanola High School in 1960. She left Colorado to study Home Economics in 1965. She attended Bethany Peniel College, now Southern Nazarene University. While in college, she met Arlie Jack Neel. They married on May 27, 1967. They settled in Bethany and raised three sons. Iona worked in the Putnam City School cafeteria until the early 1990’s when she retired to be a homemaker. Iona was very active in her church, most recently attending Crown Heights Nazarene Church. She loved teaching children about Jesus and she loved her animals.</i></p><p><i><br></i></p><p><i>Iona was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Neel; her parents, Delmer and Frances Cochran; and her sister, Violet Cochran Grossman.</i></p><p><i><br></i></p><p><i>She is survived by her sons, David Neel and wife, Laura of Fairmont, OK, Douglas Neel of Bethany, OK, and Ryan Neel of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Pansie Cochran Manners and husband, James of Warr Acres, OK, and Ruby Cochran Pearson of Fowler, CO; granddaughters, Juanita Walters, Wynter Neel, Baleigh Kelley, and Lyric Neel; grandsons, Justin Neel, Ryan Neel, Jr. and wife, Abi, Liam Neel and wife, Beth, Gloire Houmba, David Oyona, and Saladine Ganda and wife, Verona; great-grandchildren, Greyson James and Kiara Moran; and nieces and nephews too numerous to list.</i></p><p><i><br></i></p><p><i>Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Tuesday from 9:00am-8:00pm with family present from 6:00-7:30pm. Funeral services will be at Mercer-Adams Chapel on Wednesday, August 21 at 10:00am with interment following in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.</i></p><p><i><br></i></p><p><i>In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the ASPCA.</i></p><p><br><br></p><p></p>June 21, 1942 - August 15, 202406/21/194208/15/2024
