LEOLA GRACE (SPICER) MCCOMBS (FHOLER)

COUNSELOR CARETAKER FRIEND IN CHIEF

Born on July 10th, 1931, at home in Scranton, Arkansas, to Hassel
and Ocie Spicer, Grace and her three younger siblings grew up
working on the family farm. A graduate of Scranton High School
Grace married Burl McCombs on October 8, 1949. Burl and
Grace both worked for Pepsi-Cola, where she worked for 35
years before retiring. Burl passed on November 24, 1977.

Grace was a loving and godly example for the three children she
raised with Burl - Dorothea, Diane and Wayne. On July 12, 1980, she
married James Fholer, who passed on May 31, 1988.

To deal with James' passing, Grace joined the Widowed
Persons of Tulsa support group. She ended up becoming the
president, as her compassion and empathy comforted
countless people in their critical moments of need. She
quickly became the first person folks would call when
they needed healing or life advise.

Grace was always put together and dressed to the nines.
She topped out at about six feet tall, thanks to her magnificent
floof of immaculate, jet black hair. she would instruct her
grandchildren to always look up and find her hair if they
ever got lost in public. She sewed, square-danced and
traveled extensively. She would never be the first to let go
in a hug, preferring to let people hold onto her for as long
as they wanted--or needed--to.

She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist
Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Hassel and Ocie
Spicer, sisters Margie Core (husband Pat), Barbara
McKnight and brother Billy Spicer, daughter Dorothea
Chronister and son Wayne McCombs, husbands Burl McCombs
and James Fholer, as well as her long time friend, Floyd Fields.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Diane Wilmott (husband Steve)
of Glenpool: grandchildren Stephanie Rammohan (husband Ram)
of Louisiana; Randy Wilmott of Glenpool; Jennifer Harmon
(husband Kelly) of Glenpool; Stacy Wilmott and Justin
Juozapavicius of Dallas; and Alice McCombs (husband Michael)
of Tulsa; great-grandchildren Bradley Morrisett, Joshua Wilmott,
Savannah Wilmott, Steven Harmon and Kelsey Harmon; great-great
granddaughter Ellie Harmon and a host of nieces and nephews.
