<p>MRS. ANNA DENT BENNETT, entered this world on Monday, March 1, 1948, in Appling (Columbia County), GA. She was born to the late Earnestine Smalley Dent and the late Doyle Dent, Sr. On the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, 2024, Anna made her transition from labor to reward. We pray to Almighty God that her transition peaceful. May her soul rest forever in eternal peace!</p><p><br></p><p>As the only girl born to her parents, she was cherished by her mother and father and adored by her brothers. From an early age, she found solace in her faith, accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Appling (Columbia County), GA. Her educational journey led her to graduate from the former John Pierce Blanchard Consolidated High School of Columbia County, GA in 1966, afterwards which she promptly embarked into the work force. She worked with the Thomson Company for over 20 plus years, a caretaker for 12 years and was gainfully employed with the Columbia County Board of Education as a Bus Aide for 26 dedicated years.</p><p><br></p><p>In August of 1968, Anna exchanged vows with Willie James Bennett in Augusta, GA, beginning a loving marriage that spanned over 55 years. Sister Bennett was deeply loved by her family and in return her heart overflowed with love for her them. Respected as a dear friend by countless others who had the privilege of knowing her, Sister Bennett’s love for her friends was genuine and reciprocated. Always loving with a memorable smile to match, Sister Bennett enjoyed spending time with family members and friends often. In addition to her parents, Anna's heart, though truly saddened by the passing of their daughter, Janice D. Bennett, she is also preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Dent, Eddie Dent, Ronnie Dent and John W. Dent.</p><p><br></p><p>As we bid her farewell, we shall hold dear to our hearts the best of times. Until we meet again our beloved Anna Dent Bennett you will be profoundly missed, yet forever remembered with much love and admiration.</p><p><br></p><p>Sister Bennett leaves behind a legacy of love and many cherished memories to those who have survived her: a loving and devoted husband, Willie James Bennett of Appling, GA; three brothers, Doyle, Jr. (Christine) Dent, Alexander Dent and Billy Dent, all of Appling, GA; one aunt, Mary Smalley of Appling, GA; two additional sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (James) Cullars and Rosie Lamkin, all of Appling, GA; one brother-in-law, Arthur Bennett of Appling, GA; a cousin that’s like a sister, Beatrice Garnett Celestain of Los Angeles, CA; four devoted nieces, Autrey Demmons, April Brown, Ja’Nyhia Brown, all of Appling, GA and Brittany Demmons of Augusta, GA; one devoted nephew, Malachi Brown of Appling, GA; a host of additional nieces, additional nephews, other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p>March 1, 1948 - August 1, 202403/01/194808/01/2024
