<p>Betty Jo Davenport, 78, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly at 9:46 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2024 at Northwest Health in La Porte.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born on October 29, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, to Joseph and Helen (Sadowski) Ruda.</p><p><br></p><p>On May 21, 1966 she married William Brown, who preceded her in death. Later on October 18, 2013, in La Porte, Betty married Robert Davenport, who also preceded her in death.</p><p><br></p><p>She enjoyed being outdoors, shopping and going for luncheons with friends and family. Betty loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren and was a beacon of light to her family. She was very attentive, caring and understanding. She was greatly loved and will truly be missed.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving is her son, Guy Joseph (Amy) Brown; her step daughter, Cindy Jacobs; sister JoAnne Thoma; grandchildren, Terry, Nathan, Zachary and Joshua; her beloved poodle, Ada.</p><p><br></p><p>She was also preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Brown; brother. Joseph Ruda.</p><p><br></p><p>Cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life is planned for August 17, 2024 at Agape Christian Church, 1601 I St, La Porte, IN 46350 with visitation at 11:00 and celebration at 12:00 with a reception and time of fellowship to follow. In keeping with the theme of celebrating Betty's life, please feel free to wear colorful clothing that Betty would love to see you in! Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W.
