<p>Mrs. Linda Moorer Carter, 80, of Lodge, entered into rest Thursday morning, July 11, 2024, at her residence.&nbsp; </p><p>Born February 19, 1944, in Saint George, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William Franklin Moorer and the late Mary Collins Bilton.&nbsp; She was a graduate of the Palmer Business College and worked a long and dedicated career of thirty years with the Colleton County Clerk of Court’s Office.&nbsp; Having begun with the Clerk of Court’s Office under the administration of the late Mrs. Emily N. Baggett, she worked alongside Mrs. Ena O. Reed, and eventually retired retiring from the office while her dear friend, Mrs. Pat Grant was serving as Clerk.&nbsp; She was a longtime member of Lodge United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She will always be remembered for her active involvement in her church, family and community.&nbsp; She dearly loved traveling and was always ready to go, especially to the Great Smokey Mountains.&nbsp; She especially liked following her granddaughter Alli with her sports events.&nbsp; </p><p>Surviving are: her husband of fifty-seven years, Mr. Alex Peeples Carter, Jr., two children, Buddy Carter and his wife Laura of Islandton and Amy Polk and her husband Brian of Lodge; two grandchildren, Alli Polk and Shelby Stanley; a brother-in-law, Larry Carter and his wife Barbara; and two sisters-in-law, Deborah Carter and Lindy Starliper.&nbsp; She is also survived by her nieces, Beth Hogan (Matt), Kathy Sue Burch (Bill), and Nancy Murray; as well as nephews, Phil Carter (Jennifer), Madison Carter, and Brian Carter (Danielle).&nbsp; She was preceded in death by a daughter, Allison Lynn Carter; a brother-in-law, Richard Carter; and a niece, Susan F. Carter.&nbsp; </p><p>The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Edisto Hospice as well as devoted caregiver, Mickey Ryan for their care and love given to Linda.&nbsp; </p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Lodge United Methodist Church, Post Office Box, 104, Lodge, South Carolina 29082. </p><p>Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, from Lodge United Methodist Church, Highway 64, Lodge.&nbsp; The Reverend Chris King officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp; Interment will follow in the churchyard. </p><p>The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock this Friday evening at THE BRICE W.
