<p>June McCracken, 86, passed away on July 7, 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was born August 19, 1937, in Clay County, West Virginia, to the late Walter and Olive White. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June was the kindest, most loving person you could ever wish to meet.&nbsp; She met her high school sweetheart, Jack and married in 1954.&nbsp; She was a wife, a mom, a grandma, a sister, a daughter, and a best friend.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June loved to travel, gamble, shop, cook, and family.&nbsp; She and Jack spent many years as snowbirds in Las Vegas where they would explore and meet many interesting people along the way.&nbsp; June spent time in Japan when Jack was sent for work.&nbsp; She embraced the culture, took language classes, and learned to cook the local cuisine. June’s greatest adventure was a month-long trip to Alaska.&nbsp; She and Jack drove and admired the beauty of Alaska and it was their favorite place they had ever been.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>When Jack couldn't pull away from work, June would gather her five youngest boys and head out west in a truck camper to take them on vacation.&nbsp;&nbsp; On one trip, she rolled the camper and luckily no one was seriously injured, including her daughter with which she was pregnant at the time.&nbsp; June did not scare easily.&nbsp; It was not uncommon for her to gather her children and anyone else on the street into the car and take them swimming for the day.&nbsp; The dinner table almost always had extra plates set for the kid’s friends.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June would spend summers working in the garden and canning vegetables for meals throughout the year. &nbsp;She was an amazing cook, and her holiday dinners were especially delicious and will be missed.&nbsp; June loved the holidays with the family together and the chaos of the grandchildren running around and having fun together.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June tolerated Jack and the boy’s car obsession.&nbsp; Jack, and later Garry, raced at Barberton Speedway and talked June into racing in the annual Powder Puff race.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June had many side jobs including truck driver and school bus driver.&nbsp; June was the second female bus driver in the Green Local School Systems.&nbsp; She was involved in the Green Local Schools PTA and Mother’s Study Club.&nbsp; She helped with fundraising for the Green Local Schools, through Christmas Santa Sales and cookbooks put together by Mother’s Study Club.&nbsp; She was a Boy Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader.&nbsp; She volunteered and spent many days in the schools doing whatever they needed.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>June loved country music, traveling to Nashville, and enjoyed going to the Grand Ole Opry.&nbsp; She loved shopping with her daughter and antiquing with Jack.&nbsp; She loved going home to West Virginia to visit her family.&nbsp; In all her travels, nothing compared to the beauty of her home in West Virginia.&nbsp; She talked often of the fun she had with her sisters and brothers.&nbsp; Most of all June loved her family and cherished the time with them.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McCracken; son, Jack; daughter-in-law, Valinda, grandson Jeremy, and great-grandson Lincoln; brothers, Charles (Linda), Richard and Jerry White; sisters, Sue Thomas and Linda Boggs.&nbsp;&nbsp;She is survived by sons, Terry (Janis), Larry (Joanne), Jerry (Sally), Garry (Terri), and Steve (Melissa); daughter, Mary (Mike) Seman; grandchildren, Katie (Mike), Jason (Amy), Allison (Justin), Jessica, Josh, Jennifer (Donny), Michelle (Jason), Michael (Brandii), Ashley (Mark), Jordan, Brandon, T.J., Jake; great-grandchildren, Ronson, Mikey, Anna, Blake, Adam, Penny, Sterling, Cordellia, Henry and Owen; brother, Jim (Deloras) White; sister, Sandy &nbsp;Potasnik (Jerry Samples); sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Francis White; brothers-in-law, Robert Thomas, and Tawny Boggs; as well as many other family and friends. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Mr. John Gall officiating.&nbsp; Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.&nbsp; The interment will take place at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorial contributions can be made in June’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959, or the charity of your choice.&nbsp; To leave a special message for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>SCHERMESSER<br> (330) 899-9107<br> www.schermesserfh.com </p>
