<p><br></p><p>DURHAM: Robert Alan Liertz, 74, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Glenn Floyd Liertz and Dorothy Jung Liertz. In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brothers, Tod Liertz, and Scott Liertz.</p><p><br></p><p>Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Liertz; daughter, Jane Liertz; son, John Liertz; grandchild, Aliyah Jones; brothers, Keith Liertz, and Larry Liertz; sisters, Linda Kowalsky-Ellis, Gale Prough, and Kim Skylar.</p><p><br></p><p>Bob spent most of his working career as a Master Mechanic. He was an avid fisherman of fresh and saltwater who took pride in helping other boaters and keeping our waterways clear of debris. When he was not on the water he was in the garden or garage piddling, or surrounded by the family pets.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to give a very special Thank You to Sam Jones who was always there for Bob with appointment transportation and support. To Darcy Downing who was always there for medical and emotional support. Also to the Duke LVAD Clinic with special Thanks to Laura Blue and Kevin Cox, you guys are amazing at what you do and for putting up with Bob.</p><p><br></p><p>No services are planned at this time.
