<p>ZIEGLER, William “Bill”</p><p>1950 – 2024</p><p><br></p><p>It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Bill Ziegler on July 5, 2024, at Innisfree Hospice, where we are grateful for amazing care had by all. Bill was born 74 years ago in Kitchener, Ontario.</p><p><br></p><p>He was the son of the late Addison and Mildred (Cook) Ziegler. </p><p><br></p><p>A local native to New Hamburg. Bill will be forever missed by his beloved wife JoAnn Code, loving sons Joe Ziegler (Tonya; Adam, Maya), James Code (Marjorie), Ian Code and cherished grand daughter Sierra Code. </p><p><br></p><p>Survived by his siblings, Larry Ziegler (Lynn), Wayne Ziegler (Kathy), Murray Ziegler (Donna) and Betty Bondy (Roy) as well as by Joe’s mother Sharon Ziegler. He will forever be missed by in-laws, Judy Ziegler, Kim Ziegler, Marilyn Eby, Donna Bernier (John), Dennis Dietrich (Debbie) and so many close friends, nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Predeceased by his brothers, Ron Ziegler, Calvin Ziegler, Gerald (Hatz) Ziegler, Len Ziegler, Robert Ziegler, sister Margaret Ziegler (infancy) and sisters-in-law, Liona Ziegler, Sharon (Boots) Ziegler and Shirley Ziegler.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill was loved by all and remembered for his love of life, travelling and most of all making people laugh. He was best known for his quick wit, great sense of humour. He considered himself a Jimmy Buffett Parrothead, attending so many concerts and travelling to see as many Margaritavilles as possible regardless of location. </p><p><br></p><p>Bill was a dedicated employee of St. Mary’s General Hospital, first starting in House Keeping, and most happy as a Porter for the Operating room, caring for and consoling, as well as transporting surgery patients (Most patients entering surgery with a smile because of his wit). After retiring from the hospital, he enjoyed many years working at NAPA, delivering parts until he became sick.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 1 – 4 p.m. an open mic will be available if you wish to share memories. </p><p><br></p><p>As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Innisfree Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be done on the funeral home website or by contacting 519-662-1661.</p><p><br></p><p>Personal condolences and donation information available at wwww.markjutzifuneralhomes.ca</p>
