<p>Mrs. Suzann Mary Rider Nyman of Williamsport went home to be with the Lord at the age of 81 on June 18, 2024. She passed peacefully at home with her husband by her side.</p><p><br></p><p>Suzann is survived by her husband of 24 years, Paul Nyman; children, Timothy (Sincia) Rider, Todd (Karen) Rider, and Amanda (Joseph) Rider Carchi; stepchildren, Michael (Jessica) Larson and Heidi (Jeff) Cowden; 12 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Marie Sheppard, and her stepmother Sarah Musser.</p><p><br></p><p>Suzann was born on December 3rd, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Howard and Marie Sheppard. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1960 and from Misericordia University with a degree in Education in 1964. She taught elementary school for 17 years in both Montoursville and East Lycoming school districts.</p><p><br></p><p>Her family remembers her as a loving, supportive, generous, thoughtful, dedicated, and energetic mother who made sure that each of her children and grandchildren knew how much she loved them.</p><p><br></p><p>Suzann was passionate about her Roman Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Ann's Church. As a Eucharistic Minister, she volunteered to deliver Communion to the local nursing homes and supported the Family Promise ministry to help families get back on their feet. She loved to travel and visited nearly 20 countries in her retirement years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed regular gatherings with her book club and attending Bible Study. She played bridge on a weekly basis and enjoyed tending her garden and landscaping. She was a skilled quilter and had a successful craft business named "The Pine Perch" for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 1225 Northway Rd., Williamsport with Fathers Shawn Simchock and Andrew Kurovsky officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.</p><p><br></p><p>Visiting hours will be at Kaufman Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Services, 2102 Northway Rd., Williamsport on Sunday, June 23rd from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Suzann's life.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will provide flowers. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or you may also donate online; or to The American Rescue Workers at 643 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank the UPMC Hospice team for their care and support and Laura, who faithfully brought her daily Communion.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be made on Suzann’s memorial page at kaufmanfuneralhomes.com.</p>
