<p>Gary W. Varnum, of Bridgewater, passed away on June 17, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his family. He was 81. Gary was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the Army 1st Calvary Division. He worked in customer relations for National Grid for over 25 years. Gary was an avid New England sports fan. Gary enjoyed breaking down the games afterwards with family and friends. He was happiest at home surrounded by his family but was also known to try his luck at the casino. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and fun sense of humor.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Devoted father of Shayne Varnum and his wife Christine of Bridgewater and Noelle Varnum of Raynham. Cherished Grampy of Juliana, Kayla, Ashley, and Caitlyn. Loving brother Fred Varnum of NC and Peter Varnum of IL. Also survived by 3 nephews and extended family.</p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 2-4 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street in Bridgewater. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 4 PM.
