<p>Louise Rodriguez was a beautiful human. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring sister, aunt and friend. Originally from Flatbush, New York she was a fan of Barbra Streisand as well as Broadway musicals and many facets of the cultural arts. Her sweet tooth was a force to be reckoned with and she had a very special chocolate chip banana bread recipe that was second to none. Always thinking about others and wanting to celebrate the special moments in a friend or family’s life, she maintained an impressively large collection of greeting cards, always prepared for that unique event and ready to bring a smile to someone’s face. </p><p><br></p><p>She courageously battled Parkinson's disease for forty years. She persevered with the unwavering love and support of her adoring husband and family. To keep her brain lively and sharp she enjoyed games, puzzles, pop culture quizes, radio contests and game shows. Ever determined, she was always up for engaging a friend in a game of Scrabble or watching Jeopardy! to reinforce her knowledge of pop potpourri and to stay engaged with the world. She enjoyed a novel adventure just as much as a simple walk in the neighborhood. Most of all she will be remembered for her love and thoughtfulness. </p><p><br></p><p>A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St Ita Church, 5500 N Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640.
