Capt. Frank Brooks

Capt Frank Brooks, 61, native of Rockport, resident of Beeville, navigated through his final passage from this life to the next, on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Capt Frank was born on January 30, 1963 to Frank D. Brooks and Betty Tumlinson Jones.

Capt Frank was a graduate from Rockport Fulton High School, class of 1983. Upon completion of high school, Capt Frank embarked on a 40+ year career in the maritime industry. Achieving his life long goal of the highest level as Master Captain (woohoo). It was his hard work and dedication to family that drove him to achieve such goals. Not only was he a Master Captain, he had many hobbies which included skills in Carpentry, mechanics, and building dune buggies in the old days.

In 1992, God blessed him with his only daughter, Amanda, she was his “little shit ass” pride and joy! Fond memories of quality family time were spanking Amanda at Mario Bros, and taking both Lynn and Amanda to watch the waves roll in from Aransas Bay after a quick trip to the sonic drive in.

Capt Frank was a family man first and foremost, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a true friend to all, and never met a stranger. He kept friends, family, and work family, to include Chuck Boone, entertained with loads of Facebook and YouTube reels that we will all miss receiving, sometimes even at 2:00 AM. His life ended with being known as the “best of the best”, in both his career and personal life.

Capt Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank D. Brooks and mother, Betty Jones; grandparents, Harvey and Kathleen Tumlinson; uncles, Bobby and James Tumlinson.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Lynn Pieper Brooks; bonus dad, David Jones; children, Wade (Angela) Reese, Amanda (Marcus) Govella; grandchildren, Chasity (Hannah Walter) Reese, Brandon Reese, Matthew Govella, Jacob Govella, Audree Govella, Arianna Govella; great grandchildren, Landon Baker, Jaxson Baker, Weston Reese; siblings, Herby Brooks, Diane (Skye) McCoy, Lydia (Manuel) Gonzalez; extended Gibson and Martinez family to include numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Oak Park Memorial Chapel, in Beeville. There will be a time for family and friends to share special memories, beginning at 6:30 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

OAK PARK MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL

BEEVILLE, TEXAS
