<p><p>Frank Dovidio</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>August 28th, 1933 – July 30th, 2023</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Frank Dovidio, 89, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on July 30th, 2023.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Frank was born on August 28th, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York to Peter Dovidio and Angelina Villano.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>He joined the Air Force in October 1951, and served for four years in the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in October 1955.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Frank met his wife, Elsa through some family members. They dated, then married on October 26, 1958, had three children, and were married over 60 years.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Frank took some college classes and had various jobs before he started working at a bank. From there he started at the very bottom position, then through the years he worked his way up to be president and then Chairman of the board of a small chain of banks in New York state.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>After he retired, Frank and Elsa spent their golden years in the Oak Run community of Ocala, Florida, living in a beautiful, customized retirement home that they lovingly decorated. Frank enjoyed participating in weekly card games with his friends in Oak Run, as well as playing golf. Frank and Elsa loved to travel and went on many cruises over the years. Frank also taught himself to make baskets from pine needles that could be found throughout Oak Run. He created many beautiful and unique pine needle baskets, which he frequently gave away to family and close friends as gifts. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and beautifying the lawn to create a wonderful environment.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>He is survived by his three children; Andrea Steinhour (Bill), Frank Dovidio (Debora), and Mark Dovidio, Grandchildren; Logan Dovidio, Brittney Reidmiller, Justin Steinhour (Cicely), Joshua Steinhour (Ashlyn), Great grandchildren; Connor, Aaron, Olivia, and many nieces and nephews.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Elsa Dovidio; parents, Peter and Angelina Dovidio; brothers and sisters; Mary Losavio, Grace Guadagno, Joe Dovidio, Sal Dovidio.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Mass for both Frank and Elsa will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, 1pm at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmondson St. Culpeper, VA 22701 followed by the 2pm internment at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler St. Culpeper VA 22701.</p></p>August 28, 1933 - July 30, 202308/28/193307/30/2023
