<p>Martha Scott Barnett - Burlington, VT</p><p>July 7, 1941 - January 27, 2023</p><p><br></p><p>Martha was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Lincoln R. Scott and Pearl (Stevens) Scott of South Hadley. She graduated from South Hadley High School and Mount Holyoke College. She married Andrew John Barnett in 1963 and began her life as a wonderful wife and soon to be mother. </p><p><br></p><p>Once Martha’s youngest child was in school full time, she began working at S. W. Thayer Elementary School as an aid working with special needs students. Martha eventually began a full-time career as a financial analyst at the Chittenden Bank from which she retired in 2006.</p><p><br></p><p>An avid reader, Martha belonged to Fletcher Free Library book clubs meeting both at the library and the Heineburg Senior Center and Residence, for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>Martha leaves behind her sister, Hilda (Scott) Whitley of High Point, NC and her devoted children, son Scott and daughter-in-law Debbie, daughter Jennifer, son David, granddaughter Karen Barnett, her fiancé Thomas Cahall, and her sister Megan Roucoulet and husband Chris. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Andrew, and by Jennifer’s husband, son-in-law John T. Golon, as well as caring and thoughtful friends and neighbors.</p><p><br></p><p>There will be no calling hours or service. </p>July 7, 1941 - January 27, 202307/07/194101/27/2023
